2013: Year of the Bacon

by 365daysofbacon

2013: Year of BaconI’ve always found New Year’s resolutions to be painfully dull and cliche. Everyone increases their gym time and decreases their feeding time. Yawn.

Like every New Year, I will be intentinally cutting back my gym time to avoid the crowds. And this year, for extra spite, I’ve decided that my 2013 New Year’s resolution will be to write this blog, 365 Days of Bacon, detailing my daily interaction with bacon.

No, the Times Square ball didn’t fall on your head. And I really hope that, by now, you’re sober.

Yes, I really did mean that

My 2013 New Year’s resolution is to USE BACON EVERY SINGLE DAY

Take that, USDA Food Pyramid! Stuff it, Jillian Michaels!

To start the 2013 off right, my spectacular first meal of  the New Year consisted of:

  • Top sirloin steak sizzled in cast iron slathered in bacon grease
  • Roasted brussel sprouts with hazelnuts, bacon grease, and crumbled bacon
  • Mushrooms and onions sauteed in bacon grease
  • Bacon-chocolate-hazelnut nutella

You can expect bacon tips, pics, recipes, and love in the next 364 days.

365 Days of Bacon = A Happy New Year!   🙂

  1. Sparky says:

Bacon has had a bad wrap for too long, but it’s become sizzling hot in the last two or three years, thanks to the ‘WorldWideBaconweb’, a.k.a. the ‘Interbacon’.
Do a Google search on bacon or ‘bacon love’ or ‘bacon everything’ and find sites like; baconfreak.com, bacontoday.com, ilovebacon.com, mrbaconpants.com, etc.
The current survey question should be; ‘What is the best bacon song?’. We need a good bacon jingle or theme song for this blog.
