Smoky Crab & Bacon Salad

Hey, crab-by pants!

Are you feeling the New Year’s sugar withdrawl? Have you given up on your resolution?

Better question: do you HAVE a New Year’s resolution? (Ok, you don’t have to answer that.)

Good news. I haven’t  given up on 365 Days of Bacon blogging (yet). Which means there’s a lot of bacon consumption, love, humor, and recipes on their way.  🙂

Just in case you’re still feeling guilty and trying to cut back, I’ve put the word “salad” in this recipe post.

And, as everyone knows, if the words “salad” and “bacon” are in the same recipe, the salad cancels out the bacon.

  • 2 cans crab, drained
  • bacon, cooked
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • lemon juice – 1/2 lemon or 3-4 tbsp
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped small
  • 1-2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2-1 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • green leafy vegetable (kale shown in above image) and/or extra celery sticks


  1. Cook the bacon (if you haven’t).
  2. Chop the celery.
  3. Drain the crab.
  4. Stir together crab, celery, mayo, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spoon the mixture on your green leafy vegetable and/or spread on your celery sticks.
  6. Crumble bacon or layer strips on top.
