Bacon & Eggs – with Steak, Blue Cheese & Mushrooms

I won’t lie. This was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had.  #SuperfantasicalamazingIwanttomarryit.

Thanks to this outstanding meal, I came to the realization that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Particularly weekend breakfasts.  🙂

Yes, I have to admit it. Breakfast may even trump dessert (which yes, in case you’re wondering, is classified as a meal when you’re me).

It crossed my mind that I would never, ever have a reason to go to a brunch buffet again. Even brunch buffets don’t serve steak. (It just so happened that I’d had a great steak dinner the night before, with the perfect sized piece left over for this recipe)

To heck with the Breakfast of Champions. Soak it up, nasty soggy Wheaties! Here’s to the breakfast of kings (and queens)!

Bacon & Eggs – with Steak, Blue Cheese & Mushrooms


  • bacon
  • bacon grease
  • eggs
  • leftover steak
  • 1/2 pkg mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • (optional)1 tsp tumeric
  • (optional) dash of hot sauce


  1. Cook bacon. Set aside on paper towels.
  2. Slice and saute mushrooms in some of the bacon grease.
  3. Cut up leftover steak.
  4. Scramble eggs in bowl. Add tumeric, salt and pepper. Add steak.
  5. Cook scrambled egg mixture in remaining bacon grease.
  6. Add mushrooms and blue cheese to eggs just before eggs are cooked.
  7. Feast like a king (or queen)!
