I’m all about throwing together what I have in the fridge to make a meal. Without (re)heating it.

This cold mess of a bacon pasta turned out pretty stellar.

Smorgasbord successsss!

I eat my food cold all the time. Is that weird?

I find room temperature or straight-from-the-fridge works pretty well for things like zucchini noodles, pesto, marinara, leftover chicken, mushrooms, and bacon. Which pretty much comprises this recipe.

It’s a lot less effort, time, resources, and money. See all the justifications?

Plus, the concept of reheating bacon sounds like a really bad idea. I’ve never done it, and I can honestly say it’s never crossed my mind until the exact moment of writing this post.

Most likely because I never have any bacon leftover to reheat.

Bacon & Chicken Tomato Pesto Pasta


  • bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • chicken, cooked and cubed
  • zucchini noodles (made possible with a spiralizer thinger)
  • pesto (maybe Bacon Dill Parsley Pesto?)
  • tomato sauce
  • sliced mushrooms, optional
  • salt & pepper, to taste


You really just toss it all in a bowl. Or on your plate. It’s not hard.

    Wow, that honestly looks so good – Val loves leftover food cold like pastas and things whereas i am a more traditional heat-it-up kind of guy and i too have no idea of what heated up bacon tastes like for the same reason that “leftover bacon” feels like an oxymoron with the emphasis on ‘moron’ – honestly, who throws a shoe? [Austen Powers] – what i did find though is this bacon-related clip which claims to be ten hours long but after 30 seconds of viewing is a 7 to 10 second clip put on loop for ten hours – turns out that’s a trend these days on You Tube for sad and sorry individuals or something – enjoy –
