BACON: Crispy vs Chewy


To crisp the bacon, or not to crisp the bacon?

This question can sometimes seem to create a point of contention, a divide, between bacon-crossed lovers.

But let’s be honest here.

Regardless of whether it’s crispy, chewy, burnt, sorta crispy / sorta chewy, fell on the floor….

You’ll eat that bacon. You’ll eat the heck outta that bacon.

And so will I.

Because the right answer to

THE GREAT BACON DEBATE: Chewy or crispy?

is always


That said, it’s ok to have a preference, as long as you don’t discriminate.

So friends, what say you?

    It depends on what it is being eaten with. Bacon by itself? Chewy. On BLT? Chewy. In a scramble or as flavoring in a bigger dish? Crispy!

    i would definitely say the edge of crispy… so not crunchy but crumble-in-your-mouthy… but as you said, it’s bacon – hard to go wrong – no idiot has tried to combine bacon with my arch nemesis raiSINs as of yet so all good…

  3. It all depends on how and what you are serving it with. For example: If I was going to have it on a plate with eggs and potatoes then crispy. If I wanted to have it in a sandwich then chewy for sure.
